As
well as being the founder and Musical Director of the New London Soloists
Orchestra, Ivor Setterfield is also Musical Director of London’s largest
choir, Barts Choir. Ivor has worked with a number of leading
orchestras and soloists conducting both choral and orchestral works and
regularly performs at major London venues including the Royal Albert Hall
and the South Bank. Recent performances include Mahler Symphony no.2 at
the Royal Albert Hall and Beethoven Symphony No 5 at the Barbican Centre.
For over 10 years, Ivor has
been Musical Director of the New London Singers (NLS), a chamber choir of
about 40 singers, who perform frequently with the NLSO. They perform a
wide repertoire ranging from a cappella works of all periods through to
the major choral works. Ivor has made 4 recordings of choral music with
NLS – the Rachmaninov Vespers, a collection of English Music for
Christmas, Frank Martin Mass for double choir and most recently Fauré
& Duruflé Requiems.
Ivor recently appeared in
the Channel Five TV Documentary series "The Singing Estate"
which was shortlisted for the prestigious Rose D'or Television Prize.. |
